Indiana County, PA (Chevy Chase)

From Philadelphia to the small rural area of Indiana, PA.  Indiana, PA has a total population of 14,034 as of the last Census in year 2000.  Indiana, PA is approximately 60 miles East of Pittsburgh which provides access for me to familiar metropolis surroundings.  Indiana, PA is historically known as an underutilized business zone.  Employment opportunities can be scarce during different time intervals which can have a negative impact on  healthy development of individuals, a community and the overall environment.  The specific area of my residence, Chevy Chase Heights, falls within the economic guidelines of having 13.5% of families and 20.8% of the population below the poverty line.

As a Psychology major, my first professional job as a General and Child Protective Service (GPS / CPS) worker, protecting many from the high number of sexual and physical  abuse captured my heart, skills, talents and passion to devote my resources to seeing even more fulfilled children in new stages of a better reality for all.

Lillian’s just like the ancestors before have accomplished.  She’s worked through a variety of organizations to contribute to the many causes through the NAACP.

A Day in the birth of The Lillian O. Clemons Education Research Foundation started at the Ronald Regean’s Museum and Titanic Exhibition. From the amazement birthed the Chevy Chase Community Action Center’s 2017 Titanic Science and Technology Camp at in the basement of Beulah Baptist Church.

Not having a summer camp after for a few years left us rusty, however a full seven week, three days four hours a day program was successfully implemented. The Titanic Summer Science and Technology Camp was launched at the Beulah Baptist Church, as the Chevy Chase Community Center closed it’s doors to the public for financial and planning reasons!

As that was a foresight, not seen, the county received unusual rainfall creating damage

And for the Community Center, the entire basement was sat in water over the weekend, up to approximately a foot.  Since its inception in 1969, we were fortunate not to need Flood Insurance, but have since rectified that situation.

From there to a whole new world of STEAM opportunities opened a brand new challenge for school aged youth, University Faculty, Parent Teacher Organizations, other Charitable Organizations in addition to Parents, Individuals and MORE to advance, assist, strengthen and compliment the efforts our our educational systems to prepare our youth today for tomorrow.
